What Is RTT?
RTT stands for Rapid Transformational Therapy and it is a therapeutic method that employs powerful, evidence-based strategies to equip individuals with the resources needed for meaningful change. RTT draws on various elements from traditional psychotherapy, including gestalt therapy, solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, hypnotherapy, and mindfulness.
This tailored approach works with clients to help them reshape negative beliefs, values, habits, and emotions—many of which have been ingrained since childhood. These issues are often so deeply embedded in the subconscious that clients may not even realize their impact. By empowering clients to change their thought patterns and eliminate negative self-talk, RTT enables them to adopt a more positive outlook on life and move forward. To summarize, Rapid Transformational Therapy, or RTT, is a therapeutic method that uses hypnosis as a vehicle to access the root of an issue that concerns you, whether it is psychological, emotional, or physical.
How Does It Work?
Unlike traditional hypnotherapy, RTT doesn’t just rely on positive reinforcement. Instead, it delves deeper to get to the root and uncover the origins of unhelpful beliefs and behaviors, pinpointing how, where, and when they were formed. RTT then applies advanced scientific principles of neuroplasticity to help forge new neural pathways in the brain.
The techniques and tools that make RTT a unique therapeutic method are grounded in practice rather than theory. Developed by renowned therapist and bestselling author Marisa Peer, they emerged from her 30 years of hands-on experience, where she identified what truly created lasting change for real clients in real sessions.
How Is RTT Different From Other Therapies?
RTT assists clients in uncovering the underlying cause of their discomfort. Unlike other therapies that concentrate on the issue or challenge itself, RTT helps clients trace the origin of the beliefs and behaviors contributing to their problem. By utilizing a distinctive set of tools and techniques, RTT enables clients to transform their current issue and move forward with a new, more positive and beneficial belief system.
RTT differs from traditional hypnotherapy in that it goes beyond just using positive reinforcement. While traditional hypnotherapy may focus on relaxing the client and suggesting positive changes, RTT delves deeper to uncover the root causes of negative beliefs and behaviors. RTT then uses the principles of neuroplasticity to help clients create new, positive neural pathways, offering a more comprehensive approach to lasting change.
How Long Does RTT Take To Work?
The effects of RTT can often be felt immediately or within a few days after the session, as clients start to experience shifts in their thoughts and behaviors. However, lasting change typically solidifies over time, especially with the continued reinforcement of new beliefs through the personalized audio recording. Most clients notice significant improvements within 21-30 days, as this period allows for the new neural pathways to be established.
What Should I Expect From A Session?
Your RTT therapist will guide you into a state of deep relaxation, allowing you to focus on past experiences. Together with the therapist, you’ll explore the meanings and interpretations you assigned to those experiences and the beliefs that emerged as a result. You’ll then have the opportunity to re-frame your view of the past from your current adult perspective.
You will be conscious and aware during the process, just like meditation. You will have your eyes closed while exploring the scenes in your past. As you become relaxed in hypnosis, you become more aware and your focus and concentration heighten. It is precisely that relaxation of the body that allows the mind access to the subconscious part in which all our memories are stored and where our beliefs reside. In this state, you become more receptive to suggestions and can make changes at a subconscious level.
After this process, your RTT therapist will assist you in developing new, positive beliefs. These will be reinforced with a customized audio recording that you’ll listen to for a minimum of 21 days. For best results, it is recommended to continue listening to it afterwards, as, on average, it takes between 2 to 3 months (66 to 90 days) for a behavior to become an automatic habit and to support lasting, beneficial change.
How Should I Prepare For An RTT Session?
To prepare for an RTT session, it’s important to approach it with an open mind and a willingness to explore past experiences. A session can last between 90 minutes and 3 hours, so ensure you are in a quiet, comfortable space where you won’t be disturbed. Reflecting on any challenges or issues you want to address during the session is helpful. Additionally, ensure you are well-rested and hydrated, as this will help you remain focused and receptive during the session. Take the rest of the day easy, do not plan heavy work, and keep in mind that you will need quiet time and mental space to process what happened in the session.
What Do We Do In The Session?
In the session, we explore various moments of your life that have contributed to the development of that concern in order to understand how it arose and what beliefs or techniques your mind developed at that time to cope with the situation. These were useful at that moment but have become stuck and no longer serve you.
We use various psychotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques to understand what happened, process the emotions that arose and got stuck, then re-frame the trauma, and help form new, more positive and constructive patterns to facilitate change.
What About After The Session?
After the session, I will create a fully personalized audio tailored to your specific needs, lasting about 20 minutes, for you to listen to every day for a minimum of 21 consecutive days. This will help install the new beliefs or habits based on what we worked on in the session. This step is crucial to ensure the desired new patterns are deeply established.
Why 21 Days?
It’s simple: the brain has an incredible ability to adapt to new routines through a process called neuroplasticity. This means the brain can form new connections and reconfigure existing ones to support new behaviors. It takes about 21 days for the brain to create these new neural connections, which in turn creates new habits.
However, this doesn’t mean the habit is fully ingrained; it just means the brain has started to adapt. For many people, 21 days is a good start, but deeper habits may continue to develop beyond that time. That’s why it’s important to listen to the personalized audio for a minimum of 21 days, although it is recommended to continue listening to it afterwards, as, on average, it takes between 2 to 3 months (66 to 90 days) for a behavior to become an automatic habit and integrate naturally into your life.
In Summary, What Does A Session Of RTT Include?
- We first start with an Initial Consultation Call that usually lasts about 30 minutes. This is a one-on-one Zoom call to give you an overview of my RTT process, to answer any of your questions, and for us to determine if we are a good fit for one another to work together. There is no charge for the Initial Consultation Call.
- If we determine that we would like to work together, then I will send you my payment information. Once payment is received, I will send you my New Client paperwork through Docusign. After that has been signed and returned we will schedule a Deep Dive Intake Call. This is a one-on-one Zoom Call where we deep dive into the details of what you would like to work on and how I can best serve you. This call usually lasts about 1 hour, sometimes a bit longer. The RTT session will be on a separate day.
- After your Deep Dive Call we will schedule your RTT Session which will usually last between 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours, sometimes up to 3 hours. We deal with whatever comes up during your session. *Please schedule at least a 4 – 5 hour time block in your schedule so you have plenty of time and you don’t feel like you’re being rushed. Take the rest of the day easy, do not plan heavy work, and keep in mind that you will need quiet time and mental space to process what happened in the session.
- After completing your RTT Session you will receive a fully personalized audio based on your specific needs to listen to for at least 21 days. This will be delivered via email within 24 hours of your RTT Session.
- Once your RTT Session is complete, you will receive ongoing support and follow-up throughout the process. A check-in call, text, or email, at the 7 day mark. And also a check-in call, text, or email, after 21 days to examine your progress, assess how you’re doing, and schedule another session if needed. These check-ins can also be through a one-on-one Zoom call if you so desire.
What Can RTT Be Used For?
RTT can be used to address a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, phobias, and low self-esteem. It’s also effective for overcoming addictions, improving confidence, and managing weight. Additionally, RTT can be used to address physical health conditions that may be linked to emotional or psychological factors, such as chronic pain, insomnia, and digestive issues, as well as other situations.
How Can RTT Impact Physical Health And Life-Long Behaviors?
RTT can have a significant impact on physical health and long-standing behaviors by addressing the emotional and psychological roots of these issues. By uncovering and re-framing the beliefs and memories that contribute to negative behaviors and physical ailments, RTT can help reduce or eliminate symptoms. This can lead to improved physical health, such as reduced pain or better sleep, and help individuals adopt healthier, more positive behaviors for the long term.
How Much Is The Investment?
After the Free Initial Consultation Call, if you choose to move forward with a RTT Session we will work in a 21-day cycle. This cycle consists of a Deep Dive Intake Call that typically lasts about an hour, sometimes a little longer. We will then schedule your RTT Session that will usually last between 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours, and sometimes up to 3 hours because we deal with whatever comes up during the session. After your RTT Session is complete, you will receive your custom recording within 24 hours of your RTT Session being completed. We will then check-in with one another at 7 days and then again at the 21-day mark.
- Your total investment for this 21-day cycle is $349. Any additional sessions required for the same issue are $249.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
This is usually determined on a case-by-case basis. You may need only 1 session, or possibly up to 5 or 6 sessions for more complicated cases. Physical issues usually require more than one session. In some situations, like complex PTSD, up to 6 sessions may be needed.
